Love and Peace in The Rose and Thistle, in Burnley

As the freezing fog settled over Burnley Rattle and Hum performed in the shadows of Turf Moor home to Burnley Football Club the scene of many a memorable night. This night was to be memorable for a number of reasons.
Firstly and most importantly it showed the band Just how loyal and great our local supporters are they turned out yet again on a bitterly cold November Night to see us play, we are indebted to them and we really appreciate the support.
At 9.45PM the band took to the stage to Elevation a slight hickup as Bono's Mike failed ......Fast Eddie moved quickly and noticed the problem, he moved it straight in to I will follow then Electric Co. the crowd loved the early U2 numbers and were really appreciative of them.
Later in the set the band played for the first time live Love and Peace or Something Else taken from their last album it was then straight in to Sunday Bloody Sunday then the set closed with Bullet The Blue Sky.
The second set opened with City of Blinding Lights and included all the greatest hits of U2. The second new song of the Night and first time of playing was Hold Me Kiss Me Thrill Me, which was written by U2 and used as the theme to the film Batman. The boys brought the night to a close with With or Without you.
A great evening only slightly spoiled by the the bands camera going missing after the gig. Either it was stolen or Mick the Roadie/ Soundman and local village idiot lost it. Which ever way the band are blaming Mick........
So thanks to Maxine and Toots for having us on again and a massive thanks to all our loyal support you all know who you are we really appreciate it and this band makes us a lot of friends.
