It had been a while since the band had played in their hometown, so it was good to be home Adam commented before the show. The venue was filling out nicely as the band were pulling the set list together upstairs after the Sound check. They were carefully debating wether one new song in paticular should get it's first live airing......."FCUK IT Lets do it" Bono announced to the rest of the band and if the singer wants to do something in any band then the band usually have no choice....

So a revamped set list for the night, the band opened the evening with the now familiar tones of Arcade Fire's Wakeup and then Straight in to City of Blinding Lights. The band launching in too Get on your Boots, which was warmly received by the Burnley crowd. Angel of HArlem had been moved up in to the first set and worked pretty well up there.All I want is you was played as the previous week, Mysterious ways returned as did The Fly to close out the first set....

So second set a massive gasp from the crowd as the opening notes of the backing track to Magnificent and an even bigger cheer as the band kicked in.........This song Adam told the Edge a while ago "this is going to be the big one on off the new album" I think The Edge is starting to agree. Fast Eddie is liking it too great job on the backing track by the fast man.....

So Magnificent, the new song first time playing, out of the way, the euphoria for the band carried on and the crowd were alive too. All the hits were covered the usual Out of Control and Beautiful what a combination always gets the crowd on their feet especially "Forrest Gump" (that would be Mick the Roadie) who is making more nad more apperances at the gigs.........

After Desire and Still haven't found Bono stopped the band and told the crowd "On a great night like tonight we are gonna let you choose the next song, Is it to be 11 O'clock tick tock or Electric Co., The answer from the crowd Electric Co. the song wasn't on the original setlist..........

So the band closed out this great gig with Pride and With or Without You.

For the encore was Vertigo was played then a nice finish Fast Eddie straight in to Sunday Bloody Sunday.....

Thanks to Craig and Forrest pariculary Craig who does a great job enteraining the crowds before during and after the show.....he doesn't always get the appreciation her deserves and Mick too Cheers pal.
