Happy New Year to everyone who came to see us in 2009 we will see you all in 2010. In the meantime here is a brief review and summary of 2009 and what Rattle and Hum got up too in the last year. A big. Thanks to all who continue to support us and pack out the venues we play, it ‘s down to you that we are able to continue to do this if you didn’t come to see us play we wouldn’t get booked. So we really appreciate it and hope you enjoy it as much as we continue to do so.
Firstly a special thanks to all our families again, we know you put up with a lot!!!!
And thanks to Craig and Mick who help us put on our show we couldn’t do it without you.

See all the best pictures from our year in the photo section.
January
We opened the year with Two great gigs in the first week or so playing at the Knowles arms in Blackburn. Then we played a massive gig in a converted warehouse in Huddersfield at Adam’s employers for their belated Christmas party it was a fantastic event Adam was instrumental in the planning and over 500 people had a great night including as much as you can drink free bar courtesy of David Brown’s. Fast Eddie commented, “This was a proper gig” ……………………..
February
No gigs…………….Unfortunately
March
The band played two gigs a great one at Waxy O’Connor’s in the center of Manchester on St paddy’s day watched by no other than Manny and Ian Brown formerly of the The Stone Roses. Later that month the boys made the long trip to Belper to thrill the crowds at the Green house.
April
The band returned to one of their favorite venues The Café Artizan in Rawtenstall
May
Two memorable events happened in May 2009 firstly Burnley our adopted hometown gained promotion to the Premiership via a great day at Wembley and Stadium …..
But more importantly the band played in front of over 1500 people at The Ritz in Manchester the hour-long set was in celebration of Rock radio’s first anniversary it was a fantastic. Bono brought the crowd to life and it was a great success.
The band also performed in a Marquee in Leigh for the Edges University friends wedding what a night one the band won’t forget…………
The month was closed out with the band playing in Earby at the Conservative club
And Adam spent two weeks in Australia wit his day job not sure how we fitted all that in looking back.
June
Magnificent and get on your boots had their live debut’s on June 9th at the bands new adopted home venue The Ighten Leigh, and the band had one of the scariest experiences when they turned up to perform at Connors Irish bar in Heatons Chapel…………Bono said “Something’s are best left unsaid”………..so enough about that one, but since that night the pub unfortunately is now closed down………….
July
The band took a well earned break for the summer holiday period……
August
Fast Eddie made his annual return to Sweden to visit family and friends. The highlight of the year undoubtedly the highlight of year for the Burnley based members of the band and crew was playing outside in the car park at The Thornton arms in Burnley…….It was Adam’s mate Simon’s 40th birthday bash the place was packed and apparently you could here the band 2 miles away so we entertained BBQ’s too that day…………….The weather held off until the final note of the third encore and all the gear was away then……….The Heavens opened. Maybe god is a fan of Rattle Hum although I thought God was the bands singer…………..
The band made an appearance at Ma Murphy’s in Morecambe and also the Five ways at Hazel Grove.
September
In this month the band made their 150th gig and what a special night it couldn’t have been more fitting that they played at their friends and fans wedding reception in the evening at the Burnley League.
October
The band made a Halloween appearance at the most haunted pub on their calendar at Ma Murphy’s in Morecmabe what a great night it was and some of the women dressed as Witches looked better than normal……………only joking.
November
The day after Halloween the boys returned for their second show at the Ighten Leigh in Burnley was a packed Sunday afternoon and later in the month the boys from Burnley played to a great audience at The Hollins Grove conservative club in Darwen……………..People from Blackburn certainly made a Band based in Burnley feel very welcome that night
December
December the final month of the year the band thought they would play two gigs this month the first was a great success on a bleak Sunday afternoon in York the other was planned to be a Ma Murphy’s in Morecambe but……………….on the day of the gig Bono slipped on some Ice getting in the van and fractured his collar bone due to this accident the gig had to be cancelled………………….
So another busy year for the band and hopefully 2010 will be busier and better the band is working hard on new songs as we speak…………………………….
