The Unforgetable Fire at The Ighten Leigh

Sunday afternoon at The Ighten Leigh is always fun but when Rattle and Hum are in town and have not played in Burnley for a while it was always going to be interesting.
The band took to the stage just after 4.30PM the place was packed t othe rafters, and from the start of City of Blinding lights we were off.
However as the band were playing All I want is you the fire alarms went off.Was it Adam and the Smoke? NO it was some numpty in the kitchen having a sneaky fag.
Everyone had to evacute the premises for around 10 mins. The excitement over the boys came back on and played a blinding version of I will follow then a suprise Pride ended the first set.
Bono referenced Nick in between songs it was the bands first time in their hometown since his illness was diagnoised. Bono also referenced little Joshua who unfortunately has lost both his legs due to meningitus, very sad people were digging deep to help him(and please continue to do so).
As the afternoon went on the crowd got more and more in too it and by the end of With or Without you were baying for more, a suprise the encore was Sunday Bloody Sunday (A master stroke Jules)
Thanks to all who came to support us and it was an unforgettable afternoon for Bono and the boys we certainly realise why we love playing in Burnley.Thanks too craig and Mick too, all the bar staff and management of The Ighten Leigh The people of Burnley have supported us very well over the last three or so years.
We will be back very soon December 8th at the Coaching House. We will see you all soon
