The Talbot in Burnley closes it's doors....

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Last Wednesday night saw The Talbot in Burnley close it's doors due to the sign of the times. It is tragic news for the folks of Burnley, this pub for over 30 years has been the place to go see a live band on a Friday and Saturday night and has become Rattle and Hum's home venue, The band are gutted....

This is the 11th pub the band have played in over the last four years that has become a victim of the times we live in NO SMOKING and cheap Super market booze.

The bands show on Boxing day nigth may stil be on. Bono has made contact and we believe someone is taking it over, although the plan for the near future is a little unclear. We are still keeping this gig on the Website and as soon as we have more information we will keep you posted.

Lets hope The Talbot opens again very soon it is a great venue to go and watch a band play it wil be a very sad day for the town of Burnley if it remains closed, we are all keeping our fingers crossed.......

In the meantime see you all next Saturday Night the 29th at The Rose and Thistle the band are prominising some great NEW songs and word on the street is it is gonna be a busy one.....

It may be the last time you can see Rattle and Hum in Burnley this year, but fear not the band are planning a BIG year next year. There are already plenty of gigs either booked or are very close to being booked. Keep your eyes on the website gig section. Shows for 2009 are being added weekly....
